August

Spent some time painting pencils for my kiddos! I love to make back to school an exciting and special time.

This is a new Discovery Tote design I added to my shop this month. It was a custom order for a classroom in Australia. I really loved the way it turned out! The volcano is large, around 11 inches and the tote is an extra large size, measuring around 30 inches when open. This is great for multiple children in a classroom setting or at home.

Mid-Summer Days

Working on some new work in my metals studio, in the meantime full-filling some Discovery Tote Orders to be shipped to Australia!

We bought a 26 foot O'day! So exited to be a new owner of this beautiful boat. The plan is to sail a bout' Kentucky lake with dreams of sailing around the world one day, Australia to be specific. Maybe this week is a bit of coincidence?

This girl. Steals my heart.

Metals Workshop at the Murray Art Guild

Some pictures from my most recent workshop with some 10-13 year old budding metalsmiths at the MAG.  They have been incredible focused and have created some one of a kind pieces for themselves along with learning the skill of sawing and breaking blades and replacing blades and breaking and replacing without one compliant of the process!! Love this age group!

Drip, Drop, Splat

helicopterstudios.etsy.com

Exploring drips and drops I have found this recurring shape in my work.  I am working on some new pendant pieces that focus on more of a splat.  This came about from a project I taught this past semester using ink splats and drips on paper then blew with a straw.  We tapped into our inner Surrealist persona to "see into" the drips and create a series of images that were in the end identifiable beyond a drip.
